To an old friend
October 21st, 2009As some people know and for those who don’t, one of freestyles young up and coming riders, Darryl Tait, was involved in a accident that occurred at a snowmobile event last weekend. You may have seen his youtube videos, or know him personally. Darryl’s commitment to the sport is very motivating to see. Whether you have seen him on the web or in person, he was always the type of guy that was up at the course riding at 8:00 am, usually by himself for hours, until the rest of the guys showed up. October 11th, at a demo in Boston, the talented 19 year old had an unfortunate mechanical malfunction during a flip and under rotated. Darryl was struck in the back by the rear bumper of his sled. He was than air lifted to the Massachusetts General Hospital with a spinal cord injury.
Daryl is one of my old friends. I went to school with him for many years in Yellowknife. We used to ride the soft sand pits and take weekend trips to Calgary’s motocross track. Darryl i know you, you don’t give up on anything. Your a fighter. It will be a difficult ride but you will pull through, i know it.
