Pampering Your Baby

November 30th, 2007

If your beloved dog gets sick you send him to the vet, right? But have you seen vet bills lately? They’re truly a horrifying sight. It’s almost like they charge you per pound. Unfortunately motorcycle mechanics aren’t any better. It used to be that you could fix up a motorcycle extremely cheaply, but now the prices for a good motorcycle mechanic are rising faster than the gas prices are! When your motorcycle needs to be fixed, you may want to look to used motorcycle parts to get the job done.

Why try used motorcycle parts? Let’s say the ignition module for your Yamaha needs to be replaced. Are you going to want to pay a few thousands worth of dollars at your mechanics, or do you want to pay less than $400 for a used ignition module? You can save a lot of money by buying used motorcycle parts – just like you can save thousands of dollars buying your motorcycle used at a motorcycle trader’s as well! Word to the wise: make sure that the part is guaranteed to work, because it’s no good spending money on a used part to have it fizzle out on you.

The Honda CBR900RR

November 29th, 2007

Last time I said that I believed the Honda Goldwing was one of the most misunderstood Honda motorcycles that there are. This time I’m going to talk about something a bit sportier – the Honda CBR900RR.

I got a chance to ride a used, 1998 Honda CBR900RR earlier this year and let me tell you, I was shocked. It combined all of the things I loved about the Goldwing in a sport, much more pleasant looking package. A motorcycle trader I know let me take one out for a test run and I was amazed at how quiet it was! Most sport bikes are much more loud, but this beautiful piece of machinery was very quiet. I then wondered how it would head on rougher roads, and took it to a more bumpy part of town.

Let me just say that I have taken some bikes on these same roads and they have made me feel a lot of pain after the ride. The Honda CBR900RR has a very stiff suspension, which kept me from jostling around too much. Although I still think the Honda Goldwing is the most misunderstood of the Honda motorcycles, I believe that my next bike may just have to be a Honda CBR900RR.

Daring To Dream

November 28th, 2007

What teenage boy didn’t dream of having a beautiful bike to ride to school on? Some wanted one for the coolness factor, others wanted one so that they could “pick up chicks”. Most of us, however, didn’t have the money to be able to afford the motorcycle classes, much less the motorcycle itself. But you’re older now with a bit of disposable income and decide that you want a motorcycle, but should you buy new or used motorcycles?

New motorcycles do have that beautiful new smell to them. They feel new to the touch and they might have some extra features that some of the older models don’t. But do they run better? Not necessarily. Some of the new motorcycles are just pieces of plastic stuck onto a motor, and the ones that aren’t are usually insanely expensive. If you’re just starting out, it’s almost always better to look at the used motorcycles section. You can find them through a motorcycle trader, or you may even just drive by one on a lawn that has the “used motorcycle for sale” sign up. Either way, especially for a beginner, used motorcycles are definitely the way to go.

Suzuki Motorcycles

November 27th, 2007

Companies like the Suzuki Company often get a bad reputation, just because they’re foreign made. The truth of the matter is that a lot of Japanese-made motorcycles are actually much better made and last for much longer than those that are made in other countries.

The Suzuki motor corporation has been in the business of making vehicles since 1909, but it wasn’t until 1952 that they began making motorcycles. Their first motorcycles were only two-stroke engines, but eventually they created motors for the cycles that had larger engines, allowing cyclists to truly enjoy being able to get some power under them.

Today Suzuki motorcycles are some of the best motorcycles to own. They have a lot of power and are look as good as they run. Suzuki has also ventured into making all-terrain vehicles, or ATV’s, but the motorcycles are by far the most popular pieces of machinery that they manufacture. Most teenagers want to start off with Suzuki motorcycles, but if they do it’s a good idea to get them a low stroke engine, in order to make sure that they don’t have too much power under them before they learn how to truly ride.

Honda Motorcycles

November 26th, 2007

Honda motorcycles have always had a good reputation. They are prime machines that always run smooth. One of my favorite types of Honda motorcycles is the Honda Goldwing. This misunderstood and often unloved motorcycle is truly a beautiful piece of machinery. Let me explain the reasons why.

First of all, the Honda Goldwing has a massive amount of power. It can handle just about anything you can throw at it. It’s also one of the most comfortable motorcycles you’ll ever find. If you’re looking for a motorcycle that you can pop wheelies on, the Honda Goldwing isn’t for you, but if you’re looking for a motorcycle to travel across the country on, the Honda Goldwing is it. I’ve even known people that have fallen asleep riding passenger on a Honda Goldwing – that’s how smooth they are. Most people look at them, however, and think that they’re boring. Boring is one thing that the Honda Goldwing is not! It’s a sleek, graceful piece of machinery that is perfect for both the beginner biker and the biker that has a little more experience under their belt. If you’re looking for Honda motorcycles that will give you a mixture of excitement and relaxation, check out the Honda Goldwing!

Used Motorcycles

November 25th, 2007

I used to dream of owning a prime piece of machinery. I mean one of those motorcycles that you see screaming down the highway, painted either black or red, that you can’t help but lust after. I thought, though, that I’d never be able to afford such a high performance piece of machinery. After all, these mean machines always go for more than I make in a year.

Then I thought about used motorcycles. Used motorcycles are a way that you can get what you want without having to pay through the nose for it. Lot of times people will buy a motorcycle on a whim and then will discover, after a few short runs, that they don’t really want to own one. Their loss is your gain! You can purchase a used motorcycle for sometimes less than half of what the original owner paid for it, especially if you’re buying it during the winter months in a state that has a lot of snow.

The next time you dream about having a beautiful motorcycle, think about looking for a used one. Used motorcycles always cost less and often last even longer than brand new motorcycles cost!

Used Motorcycle Parts

November 24th, 2007

It’s never a pretty site when your motorcycle breaks down. Motorcycles are precision instruments, and you can’t take them to just any garage to be fixed; you need to have someone working on your cycle that knows what they’re doing. The other tricky part comes in parts. Most cycle repairers will charge you an arm and a leg for their parts, but what can you do? You need parts to fix your motorcycle, so you have to pay the outrageous fees, right?

Fortunately, no. Used motorcycle parts will often work perfectly on any bike, especially if you have a motorcycle that’s spent a few years on the road. The trick is to make sure that the used motorcycle parts that you get still have plenty of life in them. Your motorcycle mechanic should be able to tell you that. You may also have to dicker with your mechanic a bit, as some of them don’t care to use used motorcycle parts. It shouldn’t be a problem, however, if you explain to them that you prefer using previously owned parts. You can find used motorcycle parts in online stores for very reasonable prices, and these just might help to keep your cycle running for a very long time.

Yamaha Motorcycles

November 23rd, 2007

Some motorcycles sound like what they are. For instance, you can hear a Harley from a mile away and recognize that it’s a Harley. Others don’t sound at all like what they are, like the Honda Goldwing series motorcycles. These little babies are quiet and don’t give any indication about how large the motor truly is. Yamaha motorcycles fall into the category of “sounding like they should.” When a Yamaha goes by you, it sounds a bit like “yyyaaaaaa-mmmaaaa-haaaaa”. Well, unless someone’s driving really fast, then it just sounds like a blur.

I’ve got to say that one of the bikes I’ve always wanted to own are any number of different Yamaha motorcycles. Not many motorcycle companies make a variety of different type of bikes, but the Yamaha company does. They make touring bikes, and high performance sports bikes, and the best part is that they all run beautifully. I think I know what I’m asking for this Christmas – I’m going to ask for a Yamaha! Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll get one, especially as I already have a number of bikes littering my garage up! What type of bike will you be asking for this Christmas?

Where to find a used motorcycle.

November 8th, 2007

Getting a good used motorcycle for sale can be a bit difficult to do if you do not know where to look. Sure, you can probably find one from a dealer somewhere, but there is no guarantee that you will actually be getting a good deal. Let us face it; motorcycle dealers have to make a profit, and they make that profit by going above the price that the Kelly’s Blue Book uses. Not only that, but they are trying to off load this product just as soon as possible. They have other newer bikes that they can make a better profit off of.

There are other places to go to find a good used motorcycle for sale. Rather than making the trip down to a dealership that does not have your best interests at heart, you can find a used bike online. There are all sorts of ads out there, and using a web page versus more traditional methods will allow you to browse through an assortment of motorcycles with the click of a button. You can search using motorcycle type, brand, or size and you will see that the prices on these bikes can be at a great discount.

Hitting the road

November 8th, 2007

The other day, I found myself in a dilemma. Do you see? I like to take a trip every year, and I usually like to go out of the country. I have been fortunate enough to have seen many different places, and enjoy how much I have learned from each new culture. Well, I have another trip coming up, but I am wondering whether or not I made a mistake. You see, recently I have been considering buying a used motorcycle for sale and taking it on a road trip. I think that this would be a lot of fun, and I live in an area where the scenery is amazing.

With the costs of my pending trip overseas, I have to really take into consideration the cost of any motorcycle that I might buy. Perhaps I can find myself a nice used motorcycle for sale. That would be great. That way, I could be able to go on my already scheduled trip, and then after I return, I could plan a get away with me and my motorcycle. The more and more I think about it, the better getting a good used motorcycle for sale sounds like the right plan for me!
